The protagonists of the project “Mavky. Camouflage (2024) by Alena Grom are the women of the Ukrainian village of Horenka, not far from Kyiv. After Horenka was largely destroyed by Russian attacks in 2022, the residents began to rebuild – and a group of women started weaving camouflage clothing for snipers at the front.

portrayed this Ukrainian war veteran (2023). It is a work from his series “Unbroken”, which shows the wounded of war and is dedicated to them. Efimov has been dealing with this topic since 2014, when Russia invaded Crimea.

“People cannot turn away from these warriors,” says Efimov. “Quite the contrary, they, like no one else, deserve and need our attention and respect.”

is a multi award-winning Ukrainian photographer and filmmaker who has been covering war for over 10 years – in different regions of the world, and mostly in his own country. “It is important for people around the world to see and tell the truth about war crimes”, Chernov emphasizes.

This photo was taken in Bucha which became a symbol of the war crimes of the Russian occupiers. Here, Ukrainian soldiers walk through the ruins of the city after it was liberated from Russian occupation in April 2022.

Chernov is the founder of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP). Lately, a broader audience worldwide saw his film “20 Days in Mariupol” which won the Oscar for the best Documentary Feature in 2024.

is an open archive of the inscriptions the Russian occupiers have left across Ukraine since February 2022. This picture taken by Roman Timenko shows a whiteboard in a classroom in Hostomel in the Kyiw region: "Greetings from Siberia! We really didn't want this! V you v[...] Sorry, we were forced".

The inscriptions from all over Ukraine are collected by the team of the Mizhvukhamy cultural institution and published on an interactive map of Ukraine on the Wall Evidence website.

Andriy Rachinskiy has been documenting city signboard for over 10 years. After the invasion began, he decided to continue his work and show the destruction of the war.

A woman with a child walks by the water delivery in Kherson, Ukraine, on 26 November 2022. The Russian occupation forces destroyed the infrastructure facilities before retreating from the city.

After the liberation of Kherson on November 11, 2022, Anastasia Vlasova was one of the first photographers to enter the city. She used to describe her hometown of Kherson as "a small town where nothing ever happens," and then added, "Until last year, of course."

Tymofii, 8, painting in the basement of a kindergarten. The village of Kutuzivka was occupied by Russia for weeks until its liberation by the Ukrainian army on 27 April 2022. The village was heavily destroyed during battle. People continued to live in basements in fear of future shelling.

Serhii Korovayny has been documenting Russia’s war against Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion. In his work he is capturing daily life during war time.

In her project "Radiation of War", Kononova stayed in occupied areas. She takes pictures of destroyed civilian infrastructure. Before the invasion, Kononova has not made experiences as a war correspondant yet.
